August 1st Date Given for U.S. Troop Operations on Mexico Border

US (ChattahBox) – In an attempt to reduce the problem of illegal immigration and the transportation of narcotics and weapons, U.S. National Guard troops and 300 new agents will be sent to the Mexican border 0n August 1st.
In addition to forces, a great deal of equipment will be sent to boost surveillance, such as helicopters and unmanned aerial detection systems.
Arizona, the state that has taken the hardest line against illegal immigration in a controversial law that many argue may be unconstitutional, will get the largest bulk of troops to handle the increasing violence along the border region.
These numbers are part of a larger force, which will eventually add up to 1,200 troops and 1,000 border patrol agents, which will start off a major initiative to secure the border.
Cartels have been increasing their shipments into the U.S., and violence from these street-level gangs is becoming more common in various states through the country. Arizona, New Mexico and California have become especially susceptible to the problem.
In addition to this, other states have been joining the controversy, such as Utah, when rouge State Department officials sent a list of alleged illegals living in the state.
