Trish - I don't think that is true at all!!! You are guaranteed by the Consumer Protection Law of Mexico 5 days to cancel any timeshare. We signed in June, notified them of our cancellation in 3 days and they tried the same thing, said we couldn't. That is a LIE!!! We got a lawyer and he sent a demand letter and filed with PROFECO for us and they agreed to cancel and are supposed to refund ALL monies. Best $500 I have ever spent. We are also working with our credit card company and have disputed the charges.

We purchased a Grand Miramar Fractional based on the guarantee made to us, in writing, by Luxury Vallarta, that they would sell our Marriot timeshare to pay for our GM purchase, with $18000 beyond the cost. The gurantee was we would get $31550 for that property in 0-180 days. While the 180 days isn't quite up, the fact that the phone number for Luxury Vallarta is no longer working has me very concerned. Not only did we pay all the exprenses for the Grand Miramar, we also paid Luxury Vallarta $799 to rent the GM for the next 10 years with the gurantee of $650 each year for that rental. Ii'm afraid we've been dupped and we're out over 13 grand!!!

Was recently scammed at Grand Miramar-P.V. Jalisco. They produced paperwork guaranteeing their sales pitch (cut and pasted) that was not included in final paperwork. Agreed on the premises of their promises and was totally lied to. We were there late, tired and exausted. Did not uncover lies until home. Sent cancellation letter and original contract FedEx. FedEx attempted to deliver on the 5th business day but they "Refused Receipt". Accepted package next day. The 6th business day. Have proof from FedEx. Have contacted Profeco and bank card company but not sure what can be done. I don´t think they will honor their part of the contract and reimburse our credit cards.
