I never had problems with a resort before regarding a membership, I have another membership at Emeral bay And they never lied to me, but  at the time I  told  the salesman that we have another membership and  that we  weren´t interested, he started telling  us that we could use our membership as a investment , that we could earn  extra money in a easy way. We believed all the lies and we were scammed.

On dic 17th , I purchased a membership at royal elite, I have been contacting them because they made me 2 charges on my credit card, and they been avoiding me. This is a discourtesy from their part and I´m not going to tolerate it. Please contact me I´m interested in canceling my membership.

My mother bought a Timeshare too at royal elite, she felt pressure by the salesman, the next day my mom called  the salesman by phone and  it was out of service, so my mom called  the resort and  someone at the customer service told  her that the salesman was busy  but he would call back in 10 minutes, my mom waited for 3 hrs  and never received a call. Since that moment she wasn´t able to contact the salesman and she didn´t know that she had 5 days to cancel. I´m helping her but we don´t know much about it. We don`t want the membership any more, we haven`t  had a problem with the resort but because we are getting  divorced we decided to cancel it. My mother is a woman of advanced age she is 87 years, she was taken advantage by royal elite, and they sold her a membership for 50 years! Yes for 50 years!! She couldn´t use it she can´t  travel by herself.  Let´s be realistic, she doesn´t need a timeshare in Mexico, we know it and the salesperson knows too and he took advantage of the situation. Mexico has Timeshare fraud just as it has sand.

Quiero platicar mi historia para que otros turistas no pasen por la misma triste situación que yo, el pasado Febrero fui a Cancun y mi esposo y yo fuimos invitados a una presentación de tiempo compartido en royal elite como primerizos que éramos compramos una membresia con la creencia de que podríamos rentar nuestras semanas a otras  personas, mediante una compañía de renta con la  que ellos mismos nos contactaron, a demás tener un lugar donde vacacionar cuando quisiéramos  y también tendríamos ingresos por esta “gran oportunidad” que estábamos comprando. Hemos estado esperando desde entonces a que nuestras semanas se renten pero no tenemos éxito, al principio pensamos que  solo era mala suerte y ya vendrían clientes, pero como  mi esposo y yo queríamos rentas las semanas, empezamos a buscar en internet donde más podríamos ofrecerlas y  así fue como nos dimos cuenta que la renta de semanas es un fraude  y royal elite  siempre lo aplica para garantizar sus ventas.

We were never told that our timeshare would be sold through a seller company, the salesman told us that royal elite would buy our timeshare and we won´t have problems because the salesman guaranteed us the sale of our timeshare. Now that we thought that our timeshare was sold, we discovered that it wasn´t. We called royal elite and they told us, that royal elite never buy´s  a timeshare, that the company responsible for the selling  our timeshare is the seller company and no royal elite .

I was taken advantage by royal elite, they sold me a membership in the understood that they would sell my Villa del Palmar timeshare and by doing this I was going to be able to keep my royal elite timeshare with the money they provide me from my Villa del Palmar timeshare, they couldn´t sell my timeshare and now I´m in trouble because I can’t pay both timeshares, the led me to believe something different juts to get my money.

Mi esposa y yo hemos visitado Mexico hace un par de semanas, por primera vez. Realmente un país al que ansiamos volver pronto. Somos de Argentina. Como muchas otras personas, hemos caído en las garras de los vendedores de tiempos compartidos. Hasta ahora, no teníamos idea de que en México existían estas prácticas y de tal envergadura. Resumiendo. He tratado de contactarme con el servicio al cliente de la membresía Royal Elite que adquirimos en Sandos Playacar, y no he tenido respuesta alguna. Por esto, he investigado en Internet y me doy con la terrible noticia de que son estafadores y que muchas personas han sido estafadas. Me sorprende no haber encontrado quejas en español, pero sí muchas de personas que hablan inglés. De docenas de quejas, vemos que 2 o 3 han cambiado sus posturas, diciendo que RE ha mejorado el trato para con ellos. En fin. Nosotros hemos pagado con nuestra tarjeta de crédito, un porcentaje del enganche para esta membresía. En pocos días, debemos completar el pago del enganche (balance), y luego seguir pagando 36 cuotas. No sabemos si pagar o simplamente dejar ir el dinero que ya les pagamos a estos estafadores. ¿Álguien podrá darnos un consejo?

mi nombre es Alejandra, soy de Argentina y compre una membresia de Royal Elite en el Sandos Playacar en Diciembre de 2009. Estoy tratando de comunicarme con quien me vendio dicha membresia y no lo he logrado, prometieron cosas que no existen, no tienen respuesta a mis consultas y estan constantemente diciendome una cosa por otra. Las conversaciones han sido por mail ya que el telefono que tienen para argentina no lo atienden. quiero saber que es lo que puedo hacer para cancelar el pago de la membresia ya que lo hicimos con tarjeta y ademas ver si podemos recuperar la plata que ya hemos pagado porque lo que terminamos comprando no es lo que no "vendieron". la persona que nos vendio fue Jorge Gutierrez, gerente de ventas junto con Benjamin y un tal luis ornelas.

Resulta que compré una membresia con Royal Elite Exhange y me dijeron que ellos me iban a vender la membresía que yo actualmente tengo con Royal Holiday Club (espantosa tambien por cierto) y no la han vendido.

Se acercan los pagos y no tengo manera de liquidar el pagaré que firmé con ellos y no se si puedan demandarme exigiendo el pago. Ellos no cumplieron su parte del contrato puesto que si RE hubiese vendido mi membresia de Royal, yo ya gustosa hubiese liquidado mi parte con Royal Elite.

I just purchased the Sando Royal Elite membership but given what I read to day I just sent a note to sandos royal elite to cancel my membership. Contractually I saw I had a 5 day period to cancel so i am on day 2 of that timeline. Does anyone know any official way to cancel please help!

We recently vacationed in Playa del Carmen and were taken to a presentation at the Sandos in Playacar. We eneded up purchasing what I now know is a timeshare, even though we were told it was not. We had second thoughts that evening back at our hotel, but thought it was too late to do anything as we made a 30% down payment. I now have found out we were supposed to be told we had 5 days to change our minds and cancel. We were never told this. Is there anything we can do now?

My wife and I were also scammed by "Royal Elite" last August 2009.  They promise you everything and deliver NOTHING! We were sucked in by their promise to get us a balcony for an inside cabin rate. We do alot of cruising and thought-Wow this is really a great deal. However, it turned out to be more of a great rip off since everything they told us was a lie. Fortunately we only joined the club and NOT buy a timeshare. That was enough though. $2,000 down t he drain. They gave us 4 of those worthless vouchers for Sandos resorts which are also worthless. That HSI exchange is suppose to sell the vouchers for you at at least $500 is also abunch of bull. Please don't fall for anything that has Royal Elite's name on it. I'm in the process of calling the BBB and seeing what they can do. Possibly the attorney General also!!!!!!!!

We purchased a Royal Elite Timeshare in August of 2008. We were promised all kinds of opportunity, while they kept serving us cold Coronas. Between HSI, RCI, and Royal Elite it seems that this is all a scam. We initially made three payments of $800, and now after Royal Elite has made a mistake with their collections back in the end of 2008, Monterey Financial has been threatening to send me to court to recover the unpaid portion ever since. Royal Elite is almost impossible to contact. This has become a huge pain, and a troubling financial burden.

I put a down payment of approximately $4000, had to make a change to my contract due to some personal financial problems, then never received my contract. I have E-mailed Royal Elite numerous times. I just want my down payment back at this time. Now their phone number is not in service. What do I do now???

I purchased Sandos Elite Summer 2008--made payments until 9/09. I have tried to bring my account curreny with Monterey .However they insist on full total balance . I would prefer to get out of this rip-off,or at least begin making scheduled payments again.

After much research and investigating into the Royal Elite Membership we purchased back in December we have decided we are just not happy with the Membership. We were promised so much and feel so lied to. One of the biggest selling points to us was the ability to take our 3 Studios per year and resell them through Vacation Brokers for a minimum of $500 per studio. Guess what after speaking to about 50 Vacation Brokers nation-wide we come to find out no one will buy these, mainly due to the fact that you can purchase these packages online for half the cost of purchasing these studios and then paying the all-inclusive upgrades. Then we were also told we can donate them, guess what another lie! We can’t donate something that will cost the winners the additional fees. I get that when you win an auction you do not expect to spend and extra thousand or so for the vacation package in addition to the flight would be cheaper to book online. There are hundreds of complains also posted on numerous websites about these same promises. In addition I changed my Credit Card bill and contacted Customer Service several times and it took weeks to get a response. I have to be honest don’t have time to research, and wait for people to respond. What’s happens when I want to book something? I have yet to use services so it should not be a problem, I just want my money back and to be done with this. In addition I was promised 1 All-Inclusive a year and my contract only states 1 All-Inclusive period. Not acceptable, this needs to also be revised. I really can’t believe that your team wasted my entire vacation day and lied to me.

Spring of 2009 we made the terrible mistake of buying a time share. they made it sound as if we were buying the best investment--pass it on to our children etc. What a joke----also that weeks would be sold and we would get $5000.00 each year around Oct?????? It seems too many partys involved in this scheme.Checked out a vacation for two weeks and it would cost us over $10,000.00. we usually go for under $3000.00 for two people 2 weeks.What did we pay for??? except extra money in their pockets and also at the presentation the seller said- look around do you see anyone unhappy? No but i think everyone is so overwhelmed by their tactics and also embarrassed by having been sucked in that they do not say anything . Like us - we could not tell our friends what we had done.We need help especially my wife who still has problems sleeping at times like when we get another bill??? I have found that the promises that we were expressed have been found to be untrue. We can not rent our unused units. Names were give by Sandos and all they were are scams. HSI has been also involved with this marketing scam. Trying to get a response by e-mail from Sandos has proven to be impossible. We have lost thousands of dollars without any benefit. This has proven to be a mistake to get binvollved with Sandos.

   I purchased 4 weeks of time from Royal Elite and was told I could exchange my weeks through HSI to go somewhere else HSI will not accept my weeks. That was one of the big reason for buying. I was told my all inclusive fees would be no more then 55$ a day accept for holiday not true they go up 116$ a day in high season and I purchase in high season. I was also given a membership for a yatch club that does not exist and a membership to the spa club were any of the guest at the resort can use. I was told these clubs are 4000$ value. When we purchased I was shown a beautiful ocean front studio room when I went the room I had was not even near to what I was shown. I feel I was rip off is there anything I can do to get my money back?

Bought timeshare with Royal Elite/Sandos last February.  There are increasing problems as time goes on.  First, I have never received a membership with the affliate RCI, now in discussion since June 09.  They now say RCI has put a hold? on Sandos and RCI is changing things?  The other affliate HSI, now will not exchange my 3 elite weeks, won't do a cash exchange or bank my unused weeks. 

Royal elite has now stated there are too many problems with HSI and recommend Royaleliteexchanges.com to do exchanges etc. 

Somethings wrong here. Help!

 compre un timeshare en mexico ROYAL ELITE at SANDOS CARACOL en julio del 2008 el cual solo me ha dado dolores de cabeza. ellos iban ha hacer deducciones automaticas de mi tarjeta credito. lo cual ocurrio hasta enero de 2009.  nunca se me notifico ni por correo ni por escrito el motivo de la suspension de pagos. me prometieron que tendria derecho a una semana sandos y tres elite por año. Las cuales podian ponerse a la renta y me generarian 2000.00 dlls (500 cada una) por año y yo solo pagaria la diferencia que serian 27 por mes. me dieron una forma de afiliacion para poner mis cuatro semanas a la renta con una compania denominada rsi, despues de pagarles la suma de 259.00 nunca mas ohi ablar de ellos. ademas me dieron un papel aparte donde me acreditaban 10 semanas gratis para usar en cualquier tiempo. me mencionaron que en el 2009 iban a abrir un nuevo resort en cabolo cual creo que son solo mentiras porque llame a sandos y ellos no saben nada de ese proyecto. fue una de las razones de que me anime a firmar pues cancun no es muy conviniente por la distancia. lo que nunca me mencinaron es que royal elite es solo ALL INCLUSIVE y sus tarifas para socios son solo aproximadamente un diez porciento mas bajas que sus tarifas regulares donde queda mi beneficio de ser miembro? desde febrero no he hecho ningun pago y la cuanta ha sido asignada a MONTEREY FINANCIAL en oceanside ca la cual me ha puesto en collecciones y me gustaria que me aconsejaran que se puede hacer al respecto.

I purchased a travel program through Royal Elite at Sandos Resort in Mexico last March and I requested to cancel within the 5 day grace period but they still have not refunded my down payment of over $9000 US dollars.  I have been in touch with people there and they say they are working the process but it takes time.  It has now been 5 months and I am losing faith they will ever pay me back.
